Crisis and Disasters Management Unit at Faculty of Science Benha University

 

Vision:

 

   Establishing the internal system which supports the maximum safety and security for students and workers at the Faculty.

 

Objectives:

1-  Providing security and safety for the Faculty members’ staff, students and workers at the Faculty.

2-  Securing all buildings at the Faculty against fires, crisis and disasters.

3-  Achieving standards of security and safety.

4-   Spreading awareness among the Faculty members’ staff, workers and students, in addition to training them on the best behavior during crisis and disasters.

 

 

About Unit:

    The Faculty puts on its shoulders to be ready for any crisis or problem, so the Faculty pus its plans to solve and manage any crisis or problem at the Faculty before, during and after the crisis.

Role and Function of Crisis and Disasters Management Unit:

 

The Role and Function of the Crisis and Disasters Management Unit can be divided into three stages as following:

First, before the problem or disaster:

 

1-   Planning for crises and disasters that may occur in the short or long term.

2-   Preparing plans to prevent crisis and disasters.

3-   Take protective procedures to prevent occurrence of crisis and disasters.

4-   Preparation for bad events and problems by training individuals and maintaining equipment.

5-    Spreading the cultural awareness about managing crisis and disasters in addition to holding workshop for training individuals and raising their efficiency.

6-   Developing mechanisms of monitoring and early warning at field of Crisis and Disasters Management.

7-   Preparing operation room to manage crisis and disasters.

 

Second, Confrontation – Response- Containment Stage:

1-  Implementing plans which have been prepared before.

2-  Implementing confrontation actions according to crisis and disasters.

3-   Implementing Emergency services.

4-  Implementing evacuation process according to necessity.

 

Third: Equilibrium stage:

1-   Survey losses in individuals and facilities.

2-   Rehabilitation, reconstruction and protection from potential dangers in the future.

3-    Documenting problems in addition to providing recommendations and proposals in order to avoid its negative aspects in the future.
