El Qalyubia Governor and BU President inaugurate the Wheat Harvest Season at Faculty of Agriculture

Major Genera l Abdel Hamid El-Hagan, Governor of Qalyubia, and Dr. Gamal Sosa, President of Benha University inaugurated the Wheat Harvest Season at Faculty of Agriculture in the presence of Dr. Mahmoud Maghraby Iraqi, the Supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Zabalawy, Acting Dean of the Faculty, Mrs. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the Faculty of agriculture deputies . The governor of Qalyubia and the University president listened to a detailed explanation from the supervisor of the community service and environmental development sector and the Faculty dean about the wheat harvest season in the Faculty farms, where the cultivated area with wheat reached about 15 acres. For his part, the Governor of Qalyubia praised the fruitful cooperation with Benha University in various fields and sectors that aim to serve the people of the governorate. He also stressed the governorate's interest in the wheat harvest season, as it is an exceptional year where the governorate intensified its efforts in coordination with the ministries of Agriculture and supply, to ensure the success of this season. On the other hand , Dr.Gamal Sosa added that that the visit comes as an affirmation of the societal role that played by Benha University to participate in cultivating strategic crops, including wheat, in addition to the use of scientific research to devise new types of agricultural crops to increase production. He also added that the productivity of the feddan this year is greater than the previous years and reaches more than 20 ardebs.
